Well I have been a little busy this week bc the puppies have arrived. They actually got here last Sunday via emergency c-section at the animal hospital. We had gone out the night before with some neighbors to see Larry the cable guy and we were not home and in bed until midnight. Around 4am (and also 1am per my dad who was visiting and cleaned up the first mess) my youngest was knocking on our door telling me he had just thrown up. He had made a nice trail from his bed to the bathroom (poor little guy : ( then I had left me door open hoping to get some more sleep then about two hours later I hear him again and go to his room. Then I hear my older son Christopher racing out of his room screaming LUCKY'S having her puppies !!! So nick is getting sick, my dad was trying to help him and I was in the bathroom with poor lucky as she was in active labor. I was trying to re-read all the papers the vet had given us (even though I had been thru this before) i just wanted to make sure I was doing everything correct. The first puppy was half way out and she struggled for a good hour trying to get the puppy out. I finally called the VET bc at this point i wanted to make sure this was normal. Of course it was not and they told me to get her there ASAP. So Christopher and I loaded her and her puppy box in the car (while Grandpa stayed with nick) and got here there a little bit after 7am Sunday morning. Right awat they took her back and unfortunantely the FIRST BIG little girl did not make it : ( This was very difficult for christopher........they then had given her some medicine just like with humans that would keep her contractions coming bc at this point she was already very tired - she was able to get the second puppy (another girl) out naturally(the nice vet tech brought it in for us to see which was exactly what christopher needed to help him with the whole situation..........then we kept waiting and they gave more medicine but at this point she could handle no more it had been a couple of hours and they decided that they would need to do a c-section to get the other puppies out. After the c-section - they were able to get the two other girls and the LAST BIG BOY out (they said she never would have been able to get him out either. And if anyone is wondering about the puppies being big we figured since the dad was smaller than the mom that we would not have to worry but that was not the case) SO after Lucky's temp got to normal and she was awake they put her puppies with her. Then we found out she was not producing milk for some reason so Christopher and I were given bottle feeding lessons for puppies : ) which has to be done every TWO hours or until she started to produce milk. We eventually got realesed that same day about 3pm and came home for a LONG night of puppy feeding (I felt like I had FOUR newborns at this point : ) SO with all that being sad everyone is doing good - MOMMA is producing milk finally (with nature and some help of FENUGREEK an herb the vet told me to get from the health food store : ) we have had a good week - the puppies SLEEP alot and Lucky is a VERY GOOD MOMMA...........now the hardest part will be letting the puppies go in another 7-8 weeks : (

ok so today marked the last day of school - first day of summer - last day of my sanity : )
i am hoping to keep the boys occupied with more QUALITY mommy and boys time since i don't think they get enough of the QUALITY from me lately - just because i am always able to be around does not mean that they are getting what they might be needing from me and i am sometimes to busy for - not sure how some can do it when i have two and think that is hard to give enough and think about adding one more and wonder if i can do that and be good at it - truly good at it - we will see what adventures the summer holds i hope good ones, good memories, and good OL' fashioned quality time : )

Christopher and Lucky
I have to say "THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH" to my cousin Sandy because she has this way of encouraging me to do things that I have a feeling will one day be VERY meaningful to me and my children. I am still getting the hang of this DIGITAL scrapbooking thing and wanted to post a creation - sandy let me "scraplift" her paper - I think I am supposed to give credit to those who created the paper but figure that is good enough after all I am strictly using this for personal reasons only. This is my oldest son and his hot dog - the one he wanted for SO LONG : ) Her name is "LUCKY" she will be 3 years old this august - I guess I should also let you in on why we named her lucky - you will probably want to see a picutre of this also. Remember in the movie Finding Nemo how he had what his dad so cleverly called a "LUCKY" fin - well our little girl has a crooked tail, apparently she was born that way, so we knew of all the dogs there she was the one for us with her "LUCKY" tail : )

calgon please take me away !!

it's nice here in florida a balmy 81 degrees per the weather channel icon on my computer - my kids get home from school and stay outside to play (fine with me less mess inside) plus they are boys and NEED to be outside to get rid of all that energy - maybe 15 mins goes by and i hear screaming then busting thru the door my youngest nick crying that his older brother christopher has taken his power wheels (they have two of these things) you would think there would be no complaining at this point - two of everything makes everyone happy - NOT in this house !! fight settled go to your OWN power wheels - 15-20 more mins more screaming - nick busts thru the door again - complaining about something now i can't remember - "look if i have to come out here one more time everyone will be inside in their rooms !! " (is that even a good punishment at this point since both rooms hold more toys than neccessary : ) THREE strikes your out and needless to say everyone is inside - there seems to be peace for this 15 mins but "CALGON, please take me away !! "

FLASHDANCE

OK so my youngest son gets home from school and he has his shirt pulled to one side - my immediate thought is - looks like flashdance -but without missing a beat he says to me "Mommy when my shoulder gets HOT i need the cold weather to get to it to cool me off" so just when i thought i was having a style flashback on my hands turns out it actually had a purpose : )
what do i write about ??
I have been trying to be more aware of the things my kids say that I want to remember and then i wonder if they are blog-worthy - do people really want to know that my five year old asked me a question that I did not know the answer to (also bc i was laughing so hard) We were talking about going potty and poop - he has been having trouble staying dry at night - i told him his body needs to tell his brain to wake up and go potty - and then he was talking about it all and asked me "Mommy why do I potty and poop at the same time sometimes ?" i am still LOL about it.

the ORANGE socks

every morning always seems more rushed than the one before no matter how many times i tell them, get down here or you will have no time for breakfast(is that bad parenting to send them to school with an empty belly ??), where are your socks?? (you didn't get them out for me mommy), please get your backpack ready, etc........ well this morning my youngest has come downstairs ( a good 1/2 hour AFTER i first asked him) is eating his cereal and sitting quietly. Glad that he is FINALLY there i glance at his feet to make sure he has put his socks on and sure enough he does.... but not the ones i laid out for him (he is FIVE) but his orange ones from his old soccer YMCA uniform. "But mommy I can push them down and they will be OK " SO i guess this is one of those times when i look to fight only the big battles figuring socks does NOT fall in that category so i go upstairs to get the ones i had originally laid out for him : ) he takes the others off without a fight and puts on his white ones for me.
The picture is a RE-enactment (per sandy's request : )

today is the beginning
Well I hope Sandy is happy now - I will sit here and write about my life - my daily grind - do I really want people to know THAT much about me ?? : ) I do tend to gravitate towards my cousin Sandy's BLOG and her friends (who has 5 kids and certainly if she has the time I can find some too : ) so I am wondering if others will look at mine also if I ever get the courage up to tell them.
